The mining arrangement with a conveyor (3) parallel to the cutting face (2), behind the mining machine, (1) has a support (36) at the end of the conveyor, at right angles to the conveyor. This support has two vertical plates (6, 7) designed to slide telescopically, held against the face (4) of a branch gallery at the end of the cutting face. The whole right angle support assembly is attached to the end of the conveyor by a hinge assembly (24) around a vertical axis (25) at the junction. There is also a horizontal telescopic cylinder (21) connecting the support to the conveyor. Built into the structure are two side by side vertical cylinders (13), with telescopic portions interconnecting the floor supports with roof supports, to move the telescopically sliding plates.
