Electric resistance soldering of components with large surfaces - via two pairs of electrodes connected via power diodes to split sec. winding of transformer

Components are made from sheet or foil, and are joined together by soft- or hard- soldering. Process uses four independently spring-loaded electrodes. The four electrodes are arranged at the corners of a rectangle to form two pairs of electrodes diagonally opposite to each other. Each pair is connected via a power diode to one of two halves of the sec. winding of a transformer so only the positive or negative halve wave currents flow alternately over the two diagonal paths. More than four electrodes may be used, in which case an external controller is employed to direct the current along the desired paths. Process can be used on automatic machines, and provides short soldering times.
