<p>The rotary piston engine has an eccentric rotor (2) with radially slidable sealing strips (3) inside a cylindrical housing (1). The operation of the engine is optimised by a combination of measures which includes sealing arrangements, material of constructon and method of lubrication. Dynamic sealing arrangements comprise sealing members (11) in the rotor periphery extending between elements (12) at the sides of the strips, elements (13-16) at the outer strip ends with swivel shoes (4), lateral strip seals (17), rotor end face seals (10), and shaft bearing seals. The static housing seal is a compression seal. Further measures include specified material for sealing strips and elements, housing geometry and material, bearing material, and mixed or independent lubrication.</p> |
