The machine produces piston rings from wire, with a set of counter rotating rollers (1, 2) to feed the wire (3) to the rolling-bending tool (4). The tool consists of a support roller n5) and a former roller n6) with an outer contour (7) shaped to correspond with the non-circular shape of the ring to be produced. The wire passes the nip between the support roller and the former roller, which due to its non circular contour bends the wire into a non circular shape. when the rolling movement for one ring is completed a shear blade (9) cuts off the wire.
