The tower structure is braced with cables anchored to the ground at some distance from the tower shaft. It has a head carrying apts. for raising and lowering on it. The cables (10) are coupled to the tower head (3), so as to travel up and down together with it. Each cable may be hinged to the head and/or ground, or led across a convex flexible surface (12). On the ground each can be attached to a component which is movable in a radial line. With this guying system, cables need not be dismantled before the head is lowered every time, nor re-mounted after it is raised. |
