<p>The mechanism pulls sheets smooth after printing in a rotary press and is situated between the last printing mechanism and the delivery mechanism. It extends at right angles to the transport direction and has a surface curving downwards, where a vacuum is applied to the sheets passing over it. In its lengthwise direction it is divided into sections connected by separate pipes to the vacuum source. Each suction pipe (5) contains a valve (8) of variable cross-section, all pipes being connected to a bus-pipe (6), connected, inturn to a main vacuum pipe (7). A further valve (9) of adjustable cross-section is mounted in the latter.</p> |
