The fuel control system is intended for a gas turbine comprising a turbine-driven compressor. The fuel metering valve is pneumatically operated via an element moved by a first pressure-sensitive unit responding to the compressor output pressure and a second pressure-sensitive unit. This unit responds to the difference between that pressure and a pressure from a valve which is actuated by a signal representing the deviation of actual turbine speed as measured by a centrifugal tachometer, and the desired speed. The stroke of the unit is limited by a stop and this unit is connected to the element via a spring.
