<p>Heat (or latent heat) storage system uses heat storage medium or media. It consists of a single vessel, or several vessels mounted side by side or in circular arrangement. Connection between the phase donating heat and the medium eventually heated together with the storage medium is by means of heat pipes. The three media can be separated by horizontal or vertical walls. Similarly the heat pipes can be horizontal, vertical or at an angle. Used esp. in solar heating systems. By giving faster heat transfer, a better thermal efficiency is achieved.</p> |
