<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the length and to restrict the increase of the stroke by providing both pistons and cylinder holes with steps, feeding a large amount of low- pressure liquid in the early stage of a stroke, feeding a small amount of high-pressure liquid in the later stage of the stroke, and restricting the relative movement between the pistons on breakage. CONSTITUTION:In cases where both brake systems are normal, the driving force from a brake pedal moves a main piston 19 and a play piston 34 leftward, so that a low-pressure liquid is fed through first and second outlet ports 35 and 37 into both brake systems; then, at a predetermined pressure, first and second check valves 29 and 52 open so that a high-pressure liquid is fed to both the brake systems. In case where the brake system on the side of a second liquid pressure chamber 33 is broken, a main piston 14 together with the play piston 34 moves leftward, and a liquid at high pressure than in the case where both the brake systems are normal is fed from a fourth liquid pressure chamber 56 to the normal brake system through the second outlet port 57.</p> |
