<p>An oxygen sensor comprising a tubular member (24) of thick film of a transition metal oxide and two electrode thick films (14), these films being provided on the exterior of a ceramic shaft, as well as a protection layer covering said films. One electrode of the sensing element is connected to the tubular member, while the other electrode is electrically isolated from the tubular member and connected to lead wires (64, 66). This oxygen sensor strongly resists mechanical shock and vibration and hence is quite suitable for detecting the amount of oxygen in automotive exhaust gas. </p> |
