The support frame (1) for separate upholstered sections made of foam and in the form of a seat, consists of two or more parallel, straight base sections (15) between which are straight extension pieces (2) and armrest pieces (13). One end of the base pieces (15) has a crosspiece (14) whilst the other end has a T-shaped section (16). The armrest sections (13) point upwards from the plane of the base pieces (15). The bottom sides of the armrest (13) and the straight extension are joined to the cross-pieces (14) or T-shaped pieces (16) of the base sections, into openings (17, 30) at the end.
