The appliance, for applying measured amounts of skin preparations of varied viscosity to the body, incorporates a flat container (2) the size of a plate. The top of the container (2) is closed by an open-celled foam (3). Underneath the foam (3) is a perforated intermediate base (1). In the base of the container is an opening for filling it, which has a closure. A lid is inverted over the foam (3) and closes the container (2). On the outside of the base is a loop (7) for the hand to go through, also on the outside of the base is an insertion socket (8) in which a handle fits telescopically.
