Curved full-length shoe sole, esp. for sports footwear, has an abrasion-resistant, pref. non-porous, rubber running ply, topped by a firmly bonded, also full-length, padding ply. The edge of the sole consists, at the toe and heel ends, of the same material of which the running ply is made whilst the intermediate lateral portion of the edges of the sole comprise the material for the padding ply. The various edge sections are firmly bonded together. The construction of a sports shoe sole combines the advantage of good wear-resistance with that of comfortable use by virtue of strategically placed padding.
