PURPOSE:To realize an automatic equalization system which can give an automatic variation to the frequency characteristics of the equalizer and keep it approximate to the desired equalized waveform. CONSTITUTION:The input is transmitted to amplifier AMP, DC regenerator DCR and to equalizer EQL, and comparator COMP of the rear step slices the output waveform of EQL with the fixed threshold level. And the sliced waveform is applied to average value detection circuit MND to detect the expansion of the pulse duration from the fixed value, and an automatic variation is given to the frequency characteristics of EQL to secure the fixed value for the pulse duration. Here A shows the output waveform of EQL before automatic equalization. If threshold level Vth is set constant, pulses T1 and T2 featuring different output duration can be obtained like B at the output. Thus the characteristics of EQL is controlled to obtain T1=T2, and then the purpose can be attained. |
