PURPOSE:To improve the cost performance of a communication controller by decentralizing cuing buffers on, so to speak, each character composition circuit. CONSTITUTION:Character composition circuits 3-0 and 3-n set character information, composed by assembly buffers 9-0 and 9-n, on character buffers 10-0 and 10-n; and scanning circuit 4 scans on character composition circuits 3-0 and 3-n and character information on character buffers 10-0 and 10-n is transferred to character process circuit 5 only when transfer control circuit 6 is free. When transfer control circuit 6 is busy, on the other hand, scanning circuit 4 advances its operation to a scan on the next character composition circuit without sending back a character information acceptance signal to the previous character composition circuit. |
