PURPOSE:To obtain excellent frequency-temperature characteristics by setting a ratio of the thickness of a crystal vibrator to its length between 7.5 and 18. CONSTITUTION:The electric axis, mechanical axis and light axis are represented by X, Y and Z and Y and Z are turned on the X axis by an angle of theta (normally 35 deg.). Further, xo, yo and zo denote the width, thickness and length of a crystal vibrator; setting zo/yo between 15 and 18 and xo/yo between 1.2 and 1.8 for the 2nd higher harmonic of flection vibration, zo/yo between 9 and 15 and xo/yo between 2.1 and 3.5 for the 4th higher harmonic, and zo/yo between 7.5 and 9.0 and xo/yo between 7.5 and 9.0 and xo/yo between 3.6 and 1.0 for the 6th higher harmonic improves frequency-temperature characteristics extremely up to 1/3 to 1/4. |
