PURPOSE:To present a device capable of obtaining printing of high quality at a high speed simultaneously at a low price, by driving the AO light modulator with two different carrier frequencies. CONSTITUTION:Beams Ia, Ib leaving a laser oscillator 6 and passing through an AO element 5 are condensed on photosensitive drums 12, 12' through rotary polyhedral mirros 10, 10'. For instance, when the AO element is driven by 2n frequency and the laser beam is split into 2n pieces, up to n pieces of beams are led into photosensitive drums 12, 12' respectively, so that printing of up to n lines may be enabled simultaneously. Thus, two-side laser printing at high speed may be realized. In the circumference of the photosensitive drums 12, 12' are disposed charging means, laser beam radiation means, developing means, transfer means, destaticizing means, and fixing means as in the conventional art. Besides, the 0-order light of the AO element is shielded by a shielding plate 7. |
