PURPOSE:To enable connection of rays of one or a plurality of wavelength of (n) fibers and (m) fibers by providing dielectric thin film filters having wavelength selection function between the fibers to be connected of rays. CONSTITUTION:Rays of wavelengths lambda1, lambda2,...lambdan and the light signals having undergone wavelength division multiplexing enter from optical fibers 61, 62,...6n. In order to connect the rays of the wavelengths lambda1, lambda2 out of the rays from one of the fibers 61, 62,...6n, a withdrawable filter 11i1 at the crossing point of the ray routes of the fibers 6i and 71 is inserted into the ray route to let only the rays of the wavelengths lambda1, lambda2 out of the rays from the fiber 6i be reflected and connect the same to the fiber 71 through a condensing lens 8i. Even in this case, the rays of the wavelengths other than lambda1, lambda2 pass straightly through the filter 11i1, it is possible to connect the rays of lambda3, lambda4 to the other fiber 72 by inserting the filter 11i2. When the fibers 6i and 71 are connected, the other filters of the first column are withdrawn from the frame 12 as shown by the dotted lines in the figure. |
