<p>Utilising two co-axial end to shafts connected by a knee joint, the transmission system is used to operate valves or taps from a distance, being operated mechanically or by remote control, and being sealed or otherwise. The system can be used with any valve or tap which requires to be operated through a wall or similar, and the knee joint permits corrections in misalignment of the two shafts axis. A tubular casing may support the shaft whilst housing the mechanisms and determining the relationship with the wall, and a secondary casing may provide a seal. A pointer in a casing window may be used to indicate valve setting. A handwheel lock may be provided.</p> |
