<p>PURPOSE:A coating material for protecting the skin and wound surface, particularly a burn, having a short film-forming time, moderate water vapor transmission, free from toxicity and irritation, comprising a hydvophilic water-insoluble polymer, its plasticizer and an aqueous liquid. CONSTITUTION:A coating material comprising (A) a hydrophilic water-insoluble polymer, (B) a high-boiling plasticizer for (A), and/or an organic solvent, and (C) an aqueous liquid. Preferably, ingredients (B) and (C) are mixed and applied to the wound surface, and ingredient (A) is applied to them to form a film for protecting the wound and maintaining the operation site clean. A powdery polymer which is not crosslinked, particularly hydroxyethyl methacrylate, is preferred as (A); a polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight <= 800, as (B). Distilled water or physiological saline solution is used as (C).</p> |
