Interference suppressor unit for vehicle alternators - has three-capacitor circuit built into moulded connector with carefully chosen capacitances

The suppression system is based on a four-terminal capacitive suppressor which is connected between the vehicle earth and the main and auxiliary supply circuits. The suppressor comprises three capacitors two or which are connected in parallel and connected between the main line and earth. The capacitance value of one of the capacitors is approximately a third of that of the other. The suppressor is housed in a connecting plug. The connector has three shell mouldings (15, 16, 17) which accommodate the auxiliary line (9') and the split main lines (6'). The capacitor leads are soldered to an anchor point (25), and contact lug (24) respectively. An alternative form of suppressor with suitable leads for alternators with screw terminals can be constructed.
