<p>Two rollers (1, 2) are used. One of them is driven. They are mounted at a given interval apart, with a taut continuous strip saw blade running over them, on the frame of the band-saw. The running surfaces (5) of the rollers have closed grooves (4) parallel to their edges (6). The breadth and depth of at least two opposite grooves on the two rollers is the same, for precise blade guidance. The breadth of the grooves is pref. at least 3 mm, and the depth at least 0.2 mm. This enables the lbade to be kept constantly accurately aligned, without periodic removal and correction.</p> |
