PURPOSE:To reduce the number of connecting terminals and increase printing speed, by supplying electricity selectively to heat generating bodies arranged in a line by means of movable electrodes and feeding paper for printing each line. CONSTITUTION:Drive plate 23 moves right and left, and in coordination with this movable electrode 22 sweeps fixed electrode 13. By means of control circuit, electricity is supplied only to those required fixed electrodes when they are connected to each movable electrode. One movable electrode 22 is assigned with a plurality of fixed electrodes 13. For example, assume that there are 20 places per line in a 5X7, one-dot space font. Then, the number of fixed electrodes is (5+1)X20=120. Suppose that there are five electrodes. Then, one movable electrode sweeps 24 movable electrodes. When printing of one line is completed, the movement of movable electrode 22 is reversed. But, before it starts sweeping in the opposite direction, rubber roller 26 rotates a fixed angle, and recording paper is fed by one dot. When sweeping is repeated for seven times in this way, printing of a one- line equivalent is done at the normal 5X7. |
