The graph for simplifying the calculation of feed for dairy cows is divided into squares. The horizontal divisions indicate the calories contained in the food whilst the vertical divisions indicate the amount of digestible nitrogenous content. A line on the chart shows the relationship between the litres of milk produced and the diet required. Diagrams of polygonal form for different foodstuffs such as maize provide the necessary information to enable additional lines to be drawn which intersect the line of milk output and show the required amounts of the different feeding stuffs.
