<p>PURPOSE:To preserve citron fruits for a long period of time by reducing water content of citron fruits, introducing fresh air of the open air into a storage chamber while maintaining the citron fruits in cold storage at specific temperature and humidity and circulating gentle cold air. CONSTITUTION:Citron fruits are dried at a well ventilated place, water content is reduced to 2-5%, preferably 3-4%, damages of piricarp are corrected, the citron fruits are placed on shelves of a storage chamber of citron fruits, cold air at 2-4 deg.C at about 90% humidity is downward sent from a cooler 3 and a heater 4 and circulated through ducts 8 in the arrow directions. The velocity of the air is <=0.2m/second and the air is gentle air. Fresh air is sent from above to the bottom by using ventilating fans 6 and 7, ethylene gas is exhausted out of the chamber by using a heat exchange type ventilator 11 and fresh air is always introduced.</p> |
