1301900 Production of chlorocarbanilides MONSANTO CO 29 Dec 1970 [29 Dec 1969] 61535/70 Heading C2C A process for the production of a chlorocarbanilide, which comprises (a) forming a chlorophenyl isocyanate by intimately admixing a chloroaniline with at least an equimolar quantity of phosgene under conditions whereby the build-up of high concentrations of the chloroaniline is prevented by the controlled addition of phosgene, at a temperature of from 60‹ to 75‹ C., (b) removing any excess phosgene, and (c) without further purification of the chlorophenylisccyanate reaction product, reacting it with a chloroaniline. |
