The flow meter includes an enclosure (1,2) separated into two chambers (3,4) by a flexible membrane (5) which operates in conjunction with compression springs (9, 10). Fluid enters the bottom chamber (3), and in the top chamber (4) goes through a pipe (16) which provides a calibrated pressure drop. A pick-up coil (24) co-operates with a metal disc (7) forming part of the membrane to provide signals representative of movement of the membrane. A further coil (23) produces a reference signal. Pref. the pressure drop unit consists of a non-capilarry pipe.
