The cleaning of the headlamps of a vehicle, as in 2808342 uses a spinning jet of water (14) delivered from a throttling chamber (8). This is located at the front of a jet body (4) mounted of a part of the bodywork (6) of the vehicle, facing backwards towards the lamp (5). The jet body is supplied through a line (7) connected to a pump (2) driven by a motor (3) mounted in the end of a water container (1). The chamber is circular, and the water enters tangentially to give it a spinning action. The jet body may be carried on or housed in, the bumpers of the vehicle. The outlet opening from the chamber may be a curved slot, and there may be guide surfaces adjacent to it.
