The grinder, esp. for coffee, comprises a motor-driven grinder consisting of two discs (19, 20) positioned behind each other in a housing (18) with axial inlet and radial outlet. Each of the two grinding discs (19, 20) has annular surfaces forming an inlet for the material being ground. Each grinding disc (19, 20) has at least one projection which is considerably harder than the material forming the discs. Each projection ends slightly below the front surfaces. The two projections occupy roughly the same radial distance from the pivot centre of the grinding disc (20) and can be in the form of fixture screws.
