The crank housing can be used also for cylinders arranged in line or in machines with a V-shaped bank of cylinders. Each crank or each crank pair for example in an opposing cylinder engine has a single housing element. The individual housing elements are bolted together with split bearing covers and integral end bearing covers. The crank pins and end bearings are accommodated in the bearing covers.
