<p>The roller-washing mechanism is for the rubber blanket cylinder of an offset printing press, particularly for office use, having a rubber-coated washing roller gear-driven from the blanket cylinder and dipping into the washing liquid in a trough, swinging into and out of engagement with the blanket cylinder. A radially-spring-loaded metering roller paralle to the washing roller acts against it at a set pressure above the level of the liquid. The smooth-surfaced metering roller (19) is positively gear-driven from the washing roller (13) as to generate between them at the point of contact a frictional movement in the direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the washing machine.</p> |
