The vacuum cleaner nozzle has a t least one suction duct (3) running crosswise to the operating direction of the nozzle (1) and connected to the suction pipe by means of a suction opening (4). The nozzle (1) is supported on the surface being cleaned by a pivot mounting support. The suction duct (3) is positioned on the front side of the nozzle and has a support roller (5) in it acting as a support. The roller (5) extends the entire length of the duct (3). Between the roller (5) and the sides (7, 8) of the duct (3) is at least one slit (9, 10) which is open towards the base of the nozzle. The roller (5) moves in the direction in which the nozzle is operating.
