Optical fibre cable connector - with metal nose piece heatable soften cable jacket to expose fibres on insertion

A connector for a cable with a deformable jacket includes a metallic nose piece with an end aperture for abutting the fibres and a second end for receiving the cable. The nose piece is held in alignment and heated so that the jacket material flows and the biased cable is moved into the nose piece. The insertion exposes the fibres and after cooling the cable within the nose piece remains compressed and adhered. A ferrule and threaded body can then be fitted about the nose piece and held by a nut. Other parts are pref. of Nylon.
