The ventilation aid for the car window comprises a plastics moulded cowl (12) which is clipped into the top edge of the window seal of the car door. The cowl extends over the outside of the window leaving a gap for ventilation. It is made from impact resistant plastics material. The cowl can be contoured at the bottom edge to only allow fresh air to enter for part of its length. It is easily fitted and cannot easily be removed from the outside.
