<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture the porous lightweight slag, by adding the nitrogen enriching compound to the molten slag of the blast furnace in order to increase the nitrogen content of the slag, before cooling or water granulating the molten slag. CONSTITUTION:The nitrogen enriching compound of gas state like as the ammonia gas, etc., or the nitrogen gas is blasted into the molten slag of the blast furnace in order to increase the nitrogen content at the state of amino-radical or imino-radical in the molten slag. This molten slag is water granulated or spread on the sand bed saturated with water, and the molten slag is permitted to react on the water. The nitrogen compound in the slag reacts on the water producing the hydrogen gas and nitrogen gas. These gaseous substances form bubbles and pores within the solidifying slag; hereby, the foamed light-weight slag material can be manufactured. Above stated nitrogen content is adjusted for obtaining the slag different in the porosity and lightness for different purpose of use.</p> |
