PURPOSE:To increase greatly the productivity for the ultrasonic delay line by sticking a number of undesired reflection absorbing agent on the area outside the normal propagation route on the surface of the glass medium and then removing the absorbing agent from the area where the undesired reflection absorbing effect is weak. CONSTITUTION:Undesired reflection absorbing agent 5 is stuck as much as possible previously on the area outside the normal propagation route on the surface of glass medium 1. As a result, the delay time is reduced owing to the variation of the acoustic impedance of the medium 1. If agent 5 is polished, the delay time is increased accordingly with the adjustment made possible for the delay time. In that case, agent 5 is removed sequentially from the area where the undesired reflection absorbing effect is weak. In this way, the adjustment is possible to the longer delay time without imparing the absorbing effect. Furthermore, if the above method is applied together with the method to polish the glass medium itself, the delay time can be adjusted longer and shorter as desired. |
