<p>A shaft seal, esp. for the rollers in a crawler track mechanism, consists of two seal rings, concentric to the shaft and urged against each other by elastic rings, made for example of rubber. The pref. material for the seal rings is a polyamide or polyacetal plastic which have been produced with a high surface finish. They carry on the sides, which face each other, a semicircular annular grooves in which a ring with a circular, rhomboid or triangular section is fitted. Its pref. materials is stainless steel or PTFE with embedded graphite. The result is a simple shaft seal with a high functional reliability.</p> |
