Workpiece transport pallet moving between machining stations - has sensor plate with electrical resistance altering with load and adhesive coating

The pallet is particularly for the transport of workpieces between two machining stations. It comprises a support plate(2) and a sensor plate with a central plastics layer(3) whose electrical resistance alters with load. On both sides of the plastics layer are layers(4, 5) of parallel electrical conductors in a grid pattern. The uppermost of these layers has an adhesive coating (6) on the side towards the workpiece, typically on a sheet (7) of material covering it. There can be an intermediate layer between the adhesive coating and the upper conductor layer(4), flat on the side towards the workpiece and with bosses on the other side.
