The standard, non-variable, manually coupled screw coupling air pipe in the crossover lead coupling pipe layout, is used on railway rolling stock with automatic centre buffer coupling. It is connected to the coupling head's pipe section by intermediate members. The opne end of a pipe lead (17) is set on this pipe section, its other open end being intercepted at the slightly curved end of a pipe piece (13) rigidly supported and sloping to the horizontal. The other end of the piece has a standard half shell coupling head (15). This head is couplable to the half shell coupling head (9) of the standard screw coupling air pipe (1), at a point which assumes the lowest position relative to the other pipe components.
