Herbicidal substituted N-pyrazolylmethyl-haloacetanilide compounds of the formula (I) wherein Hal is halogen; R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or optionally substituted phenyl; R1, R2 and R3 are individually selected from hydrogen, alkyl, halogen or alkoxy; and X1, X2 and X3 are individually selected from hydrogen or alkyl, and acid addition salts and metal salt complexes of such compounds.
