PURPOSE:To enable to evaluate the propriety of print quality quantitatively, by eliminating vagueness in print quality measurement. CONSTITUTION:The logitudinal lines 5a and the transversal lines 5b are given on the transparent plate 4 in grid manner, and they are taken as scanning lines. The cross points of the matrix correspond to respective recognizing point in OCR. The video element 6 is printed or engraved on the crossing point included in the area surrounded with the maximum COL and the minimum COL among the cross points of the scanning lines to form the standard viedo element, i.e., gauge. Next, the character to be evaluated is read in the OCR and the video element is printed at the printed as recognized. To the image printed, the standard video element, i.e., the gauge is touched so that the printed video element can be duplicated with the video element on the gauge as many as possible. The video elements 7a to 7f not in matching with the standard video element 6 on the gauge externally and the deficiencies 8a to 8c of the video elements in the area surrounded with the standard video element 6, are found. They are counted to discriminate the quality from the total number and the condition of arrangement. |
