<p>GLASS MANUFACTURE A trough-shaped glass molting furnace is provided, approximately mid-way of the length of the trough, with a partial barrier to the downstream flowing surface current of glass. The barrier is suspended from the roof of the furnace and extends over the central portion of the width of the furnace only partway toward the sides thereof and only part-way from the surface of the glass bath to the bottom. The barrier may be made of stationary or rotating refrigerated loop-shaped conduits.</p> |
