COFFEE CAPSULE AND METHOD

Coffee capsules are described, comprising a hardened shell of coffee and/or coffee substitute solids surrounding a droplet of coffee oil containing coffee aroma. They are made by contacting particles of an emulsion of coffee oil and aromatic coffee distillate with particles of instant coffee and/or coffee substitute powder. The capsules are added to instant coffee or an instant-coffee substitute.
