PURPOSE:To make a power converter compact, by supplying mainly a driving current from a self-excited inverter and another current from a separately-excited inverter. CONSTITUTION:The gap field vector of an induction machine 1 is detected by Hall elements 4, 4a located at an angular spacing of 90 deg.. The detection output is applied to a vector analyzer 5, the output signal of which is entered into a vector rotation unit 6. Equivalent two-phase currents iMd, iMg are calculated by multipliers 61, 62 and applied to a converter 7, which changes the equivalent two-phase currents into a three-phase winding current command to drive the power converter (self-excited inverter) 2 to control mainly the driving current. Most of a current for a motor is supplied by the separately-excited inverter 3. Since the self-excited inverter 2 supplies almost only the reactive current, the power converter can be made compact. |
