1313831 Conveying containers OWENS-ILLINOIS Inc 11 Jan 1971 [30 Jan 1970] 1262/71 Heading B8A A series of pocketed wheels 17, 36 are mounted in rotational alignment on the rotor head 15 of a rotary indexing wheel for inspecting glassware in its passage along a conveyer 19. The wheels are located by a keyway 23 of the head 15. The wheel 17 nests on a shoulder 16 of the head 15, but the wheel 36 can be adjustablypositioned in height by resting on a vertically movable ring 24. The latter is also keyed to the keyway 23. At a point 25 diametrically opposite to the keyway, it is split to enable clamping of the ring, after adjustment. The two ends are drawn together by a bolt 29. A set screw 28 serves to hold the ring in position before clamping. A third pocketed wheel (37) (Fig. 6, not shown), may be employed when conveying tall glassware. |
