The circuit breaker has an integral fuse-holder in the pivoted manually swung electrode bridge. The breaker has a low overall geometry and is suitable for high density industrial switching panels and domestic fuse boxes. The breaker is housed in a two-part rectangular shell (10) with the junction in the line of the electrodes. The bridging element consists of a cartridge fuse carrier profiled on its upper surface (13) into an approximately 90 deg. curve providing a lever for manual operation of the switch. The lower section has quadrant sides (32) centered on a pivot (27) which mates with a bridge point close to the panel fixing surface (19). The fuse (37) is positioned between the quadrants and within a short cylinder (25) which is exposed for replacement when the lever is raised and the circuit broken.
