<p>The base of an enamel pot or pan has a resistant seal produced by milling a top coating enamel powder so it is very fine and forms a pigment pressed onto a film. The coated film is then applied to the external base of the pot like a transfer employed to make a picture. Used on the bottom of cooking utensils, to provided corrosion resistance to chemicals, etc., used e.g. in washing machines, but without using a thick outer enamel which would impair heat transfer.</p> |
