<p>The liquid compsns. are composed of semi-polar borate(s) of formula (I) mixed borate(s) of formula (II) right brace C4H9O-(CH2CH2O-)k-left brace p. right brace CH3O-(CH2CH2O-)j-left brace q 3 B and polyalkyleene glycol monoalkyl ether(s) of formula (III) (where X, X', Y and Y' are H, CH2(OH)- CH(OH) a or CH2(OH)- CH(OH)CH2OCH2- b-; a = 0-3; b = 1 or 2; (X + X' + Y + Y') has >=2 hydroxyl gps; p = 1-3/2; q = 3/2-2, (p+q) = 3; k = 1-3; j = 3-5; R is 1-4C alkyl; 1 = 0 or 3/2; n = 0 or 3/2; m = 3 or 5, 3 = (1 + m + n) =5; and 0 = (1 + n)/(1 + m + n) =1/3). The compsns. pass the rating of DOT - 4 grade of FMVSS, and do not cause pptn. in rubber swelling test and metal corrosion test.</p> |
