PURPOSE:To incorporate Mg into molten iron effectively by providing a bulge by which the floatation of Mg can be prevented for a bar refractory when incorporating Mg into molten iron by inserting a bar refractory into the hole of a doughnut-shaped Mg molding. CONSTITUTION:When incorporating Mg into molen iron, 10 to 50% Mg fine particles are mixed with a non-metal aggregate and a binder and then molded into the doughnut-shaped molding 12. When pushing the doughnut-shaped Mg molding whose central hole is fitted with the bar refractory 11 into the molten iron 13, a bulge is provided in place on the bar refractory 11 in order to prevent the floatation of the Mg molding due to specific gravity difference. Thus, the incorporation of Mg into molten iron can be performed simply and at lower cost. |
