1515334 Wire connections; wire strainers H S MASON PTY Ltd 4 June 1975 [27 June 1974] 24035/75 Heading F2G In a connector, allowing relative axial rotation between members, a sleeve member 4 is retained within a socket member 3 by the inter-engagement of a plurality of axially spaced annular ridges and grooves provided on the sleeve with a corresponding formation on the inner surface of the socket. In a preferred form, a chrome plated brass adjusting nut 3 of a turnbuckle is rotatably secured to a stainless steel sleeve portion 4 as described. The ridges may have Whitworth, Buttress Acme or Unified section, and may be formed by machining, casting or stamping, but preferably are formed by roll forming with the nut formed initially larger in diameter than the sleeve before subsequent radial compressing in a press tool to rotabably engage with the sleeve member. |
